Skal International Delhi-125 announced a new leadership team.

The new team is headed by Ranjit Vig as the President, Ajay Bhatnagar and Homa Mistry as the Vice President, Ankush Nijhawan as the Secretary, Tekla Maira as the Treasurer, and Members on the Board: Rajji Rai, Sunny Sodhi, Manish Marwah, Vinay Malhotra and Nayan Seth and of course IPP Greesh Bindra.

Skal International Delhi -125 held its Extraordinary General meeting on Wednesday,17 May 2022 at Hotel Ambassador New Delhi. President Sk Greesh Bindra presented his final report on the events of 2022/23 as outgoing President. It was a privilege to have in International Director Sk NSN Mohan who addressed the meeting and expressed appreciation and gratitude to Sk Greesh and extended a welcome to Sk Ranjit Vig as President.

Sk Ranjit Vig was inducted as President Skal International Delhi – 125 for the period 2023-25 and was sworn in with the new committee and office bearers.

Sk Vinay Malhotra and Sk Nayan Seth are new committee members and a warm welcome was extended to them by members who wished the incoming committee all the very best under the new leadership and expressed gratitude to the outgoing President Sk Greesh Bindra who will continue to be actively involved in the Club affairs in his capacity as immediate past President. The meeting was followed by cocktails and dinner well attended by members and their spouses  

Skal Message from President Ranjit Vig

In his address as the newly elected President, Ranjit Vig said, “As the newly elected President, it is an honour and a privilege to lead Skal International Delhi-125 which had risen to the glory of being the largest Club the world over with nearly 250 members. Currently, we are 208 members across Delhi NCR with several strong dedicated volunteer leaders, a group of sponsors, and great Skalleagues. ”         

He went on to say, “On 17th of May 2023 our distinguished Board Members’ term came to an end, and a new team with future leaders has joined our Board. I am excited to welcome the new roles on the Board, who I am certain will successfully fulfill their predecessors’ shoes!  Please join me in welcoming VPs: Ajay Bhatnagar and Homa Mistry, Secretary: Ankush Nijhawan, Treasurer: Tekla Maira, and Members on the Board: Rajji Rai, Sunny Sodhi, Manish Marwah, Vinay Malhotra and Nayan Seth and of course IPP Greesh Bindra. ” 

Ranjit Vig shared, “I have built relationships with many of you through Skal but for those I have not met, allow me to share my path towards becoming involved with this great organization. Coming from a corporate environment, as Head for International Marketing made me an avid traveller, which encouraged me towards entrepreneurship in Travel & Tourism.”

He said, ” As such, CAAIR Travels was born in 1985 followed by a strategic alliance of a wonderful relationship with American Express as the 1st appointed representative in India until 2015. I joined Skal in 1993, with great networking, hospitality engagements, and new friends. Volunteering with Skal Delhi on the Committee and Board levels since 2017 & then on the National Board as Treasurer, provided me a greater appreciation for Skal.”

The President spelt out his mission statement,” Your wonderful elected team is setting a New Direction with a Strategic Plan 2023 – 2025. The aim is to assess our club’s current condition and develop a viable plan for the future, in order to reposition the club that best meet our objective to reinstate our Vision, Mission and Goals, most importantly the priorities and actions that we will take to achieve our interests that will direct our work over the next two years.”

Ranjit Vig added, “Our Vision is simple yet powerful. We envision creating lasting change and improving engagements through diverse membership, local projects, and ethical leadership. Here Hospitality becomes not just a means but a transformative experience that connects people, cultures, and hearts.”

Ranjit Vig elaborated, “Our Mission is to bring this Vision to life. Together, we will encourage this vibrant community of like-minded individuals “To promote ethical awareness, the dignity of occupations, and international goodwill, fostering fellowship and supporting Skal’s work globally”. Skal Delhi will be the hub where dreams are shared, ideas are born, & connections are forged. As a catalyst, we will make ordinary relationships extraordinary!!”

What’s a journey without some checkpoints along the way? The Skal mission shared goals:

Harp by Maruchi- sets off a great Skal evening

A networking dinner was organised at the newly launched Speakeasy, Harp by Maruchi on Sunday 2 July exclusively for its members. 

An exquisite exclusive venue echoing the allure of a bygone era. The Speakeasy created a fun evening for over 70 skalleagues and their partners. Members donned their best in keeping with the theme of the 1920s … men with hats and suspenders and the ladies in their elegant dresses and accessories added to the ambience of the evening.

With a live band in attendance, members danced the evening to the lively music! More excitement was created as illusionist Prakhar unfolded many secrets and indulged in some mind-reading!

The Cigar Club very kindly offered their selection of cigars to the guests, and they sampled the newly launched brand in the private cigar room! A big thank you was extended to Rahul Kapoor, for this warm gesture. 

Shubham Agarwal the owner of Harp by Maruchi played gracious host as he circulated thru the evening with Skalleagues with tremendous pride seeing all his guests enjoying the evening. 

Besides hosting the event with music and entertainment, everyone enjoyed sampling the innovative cocktails conceptualized by the resident mixologist – Beam Suntory who as the alcohol sponsor for the evening made this possible. 

The Skal team applauded Harp By Maruchi for creating a wonderful experience and hosting the membership!
