STIC Travel Group celebrated its golden jubilee on September 14, 2023, marking an illustrious 50-year journey as an iconic B2B travel organization.
The grand festivities on September 14, 2023, at the historic Hotel ITC Maurya, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, began with a mesmerizing Ganesh Vandana performance and the unveiling of a Coffee Table Book celebrating five decades of remarkable achievements.
On September 14, 1973, Dr. Karan Singh, then the Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister, had inaugurated STIC Travel Group, laying the foundation for a half-century journey filled with achievements. Starting from its humble origins, Dr. Karan Singh honoured the Silver Jubilee celebration in 1998 at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi, and returned as the Chief Guest for the historic 50th-anniversary celebration in 2023.
The festivities were attended by travel agents, tour operators, and esteemed guests who have supported STIC Travel Group’s representation of 12 international airlines, 4 cruise companies, and 3 car rental brands in addition to other products over the years.
Notable attendees included top executives from nine of the international airlines represented by STIC Travel Group, who travelled from around the world to join the celebration.
STIC Travel Group also organized a quiz competition for travel agents and tour operators, offering free tickets on several airlines. A staggering 12,846 entries were received from travel and tourism professionals across India, with the lucky winners announced during the celebration.
Amidst the celebration, STIC Travel Group reiterated its long-standing commitment to Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust, a cause it has supported since the inception. The management donated Braille typewriters to aid blind students and teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, Padma Shri awardee Dr. Uma Tuli, founder of Amar Jyoti Hospital Training and Research Centre, expressed gratitude for this vital contribution, which will benefit over 3,000 blind individuals in the coming year.
The celebrations continued on September 16, 2023, with a staff celebration at ITC Maurya, where around 200 managers and frontline staff from branch offices across India were honoured with appreciation awards. The evening concluded with a gala dinner and lively dancing, creating memorable moments for all.
