The Honorable Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has actively championed the cultural splendour of Rann Utsav and the scenic beauty of Dhordo village. He has shared captivating photos and videos showcasing the mesmerizing allure of the White Rann on his X account.
Reflecting on his visits to Dhordo in 2009 and 2015, PM Modi expressed immense joy at Dhordo’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty being acknowledged globally. He commended the people of Kutch, especially, for their dedication and efforts in achieving this recognition. PM Modi’s message on X carried a vision for Dhordo’s future, expecting the village to continue shining and attracting visitors from around the world. Adding to the excitement, the Dhordo village in the Kutch region recently earned the prestigious title of “Best Tourism Village” (BTV) by the United Nations Best Tourism Village, making it the sole village from India to achieve this recognition.

The festival invites guests to dwell in luxury, with approximately 400 tents in Rann Utsav set up meticulously under the guidance of the Government of Gujarat.
A Cultural Extravaganza
The festivities unfold in Dhordo village near Bhuj. The distance from Bhuj to Rann Utsav – The Tent City, Dhordo is approx. 85 km, which takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. Renowned for its vibrant marketplaces, the district invites visitors to explore authentic handicrafts, exquisite Bandini sarees, traditional ornaments, and more, promising a captivating experience.
Beyond the Festival: Explore Kutch
While the Rann Utsav is the crown jewel, the region is also dotted with historical sites, wildlife sanctuaries (notably home to the Wild Ass), the Great White Rann of Kutch, museums, palaces, and forts, not to forget adventure activities. Each destination beckons with its unique charm.
