The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts recently announced the appointment of Ashish Kumar Rai as the General Manager of The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi
With more than 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, he holds an impressive track record in managing successful and diverse hotel operations. Ashish began his career with The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts as a Management Trainee and thereafter served as the General Manager at various award winning and iconic hotels such as The Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur; The Leela Mumbai and The Westin Mumbai Garden City. His last assignment was with SUJÁN group as Vice President.

Born in New Delhi, Ashish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University and a Diploma from The Institute of Hotel Management, PUSA, New Delhi, before joining the Leela Palace Hotels and Resorts as Management Trainee in 1998. He has also done Executive Management program from S.P. Jain institute of Management, Mumbai and professional courses in Hospitality and Finance from the Cornell University, USA.
Ashish is an avid traveler and takes keen interest in history and culture. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing tennis, squash and cricket and ardently follows Polo.
