Hyatt Centric Juhu has appointed Chef Rahul Shrivastava as its Executive Chef.
Chef Rahul Shrivastava stumbled into the culinary world by chance but it wasn’t luck alone that shaped his path. Fueled by passion, his journey took flight, aiming for nothing short of becoming an exceptional, experienced culinary artist. Drawing inspiration from his childhood days spent assisting his mother in the kitchen, Chef Rahul’s culinary journey is one of passion, dedication, and evolution.
At his first job at The Oberoi’s, New Delhi; he started off with the very basics of Japanese cuisine and to date, he fondly reminisces about that period of tremendous growth and discipline. He opened his first restaurant with The Park Chennai’s A2 in 2016 focusing on bringing global flavors to the city. Heading his first restaurant was about food, fun and making the experience memorable for the guests.
Heading to the shores of scenic Malta at Amami, he found a platform to express the essence of Japan through his dishes along with a strong international exposure. The next phase in his career was with Pricol group’s Soy-Soi in Delhi, providing an opportunity to diversify to Pan-Asian cuisine while leading city-wide operations. After the pandemic, it was the city of dreams calling! Chef Rahul made a move to Izumi in Mumbai, where every plate put on the menu came from his love for the land of the rising sun.
Chef Rahul’s journey has been marked by countless hours of experimentation and his quest for excellence. His creations marry unique culinary traditions from across the world while incorporating local ingredients in his own innovative flair. As he reflects on his transition to more senior roles in the kitchen, Rahul remarks, “Through my work, I’ve gotten great opportunities of not just developing expertise in Japanese cuisine but also pan-Asian and world cuisine. Our World is more connected than ever and I’m blessed to be equipped with skills for serving deliciousness to guests with diverse dining expectations.”
Chef Rahul Shrivastava’s role as Executive Chef at Hyatt Centric Juhu leads with a vision to elevate the acclaimed Sesame restaurant to new pinnacles of recognition. His vision for Sesame revolves around creating a “theatre of flavours” where the dishes are as much a visual spectacle as they are a sensorial delight.
