Madhya Pradesh, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, presents limitless opportunities and vast potential for tourism investment

With an enhanced focus on creating a comprehensive ecosystem for investors and unique travel experiences for tourists, the state has emerged as a leading tourism destination. Speaking at the Tourism Summit during the Global Investors Summit (GIS), Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed confidence in the state’s expanding tourism sector, stating that “Madhya Pradesh offers exceptional facilities for investors while ensuring unforgettable experiences for every traveler.”
Dr. Yadav further emphasized the continuous efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and create visitor-friendly services. Regular air services are being operated, with affordable travel options and free ambulance services for Ayushman Card holders. “The state is committed to improving tourism offerings, and under government directives, air services are expanding to build tourist confidence,” said the Chief Minister.
He also praised Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to environmental conservation, which allows for a harmonious coexistence between wildlife and tourism. Tigers roam freely in the urban landscapes of Bhopal, and cheetahs are frequently seen in Sheopur. These efforts, coupled with the state’s thriving wildlife tourism, cement Madhya Pradesh’s reputation as a premier destination for nature enthusiasts.
Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat highlighted the role of Technology, Textile, and Tourism as major contributors to India’s future development, emphasizing that tourism’s share of India’s GDP is expected to exceed 10% by 2047. He praised the state’s immense potential and encouraged investors to seize the opportunity, adding that, “If I were not in politics, I would have been doing business in the tourism sector today.” Shri Shekhawat noted that the growth of India’s economy and the income tax relief in the recent budget would boost the spending power of the middle class, further benefiting tourism.

Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trust & Endowments Minister, Shri Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, reaffirmed the state’s investor-friendly policies, stating that Madhya Pradesh is fully committed to providing all essential facilities, benefits, and support to investors. The state is also rapidly emerging as a popular film production destination, having hosted several major movie shoots in recent years.

Sharing his personal experiences, Actor Shri Pankaj Tripathi emphasized his deep connection with Madhya Pradesh, revealing that he will be visiting the state with his family next month. He encouraged domestic tourists to explore the beauty of MP, stressing that “there’s no need to go abroad when everything you need is right here in Madhya Pradesh.”
During the GIS, Madhya Pradesh secured ₹4,468 crore worth of investment proposals in the tourism and hospitality sector. These proposals are aimed at expanding tourism infrastructure, including projects in cruise tourism, film production, hotels & resorts, water parks, golf courses, and ultra-mega projects.

Principal Secretary of Tourism, Culture, and Religious Endowment Department and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, presented the state’s historical and cultural tourism features, tourism projects, and investment opportunities. He detailed the investor-friendly benefits under the Tourism Policy 2025 and Film Tourism Policy 2025, including a transparent single-window approval system, land availability, ultra-mega projects, and upcoming PPP (Public-Private Partnership) ventures.
The Tourism Summit featured insights from key industry leaders, including Padma Shri Ajeet Bajaj, President of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India; Rohit Khosla, Executive Vice President of Indian Hotels Company Ltd.; Padma Shri K.K. Mohammed, Historian; Sameer Bajaj, Head of Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs at MakeMyTrip; and actor Vijay Vikram Singh. The session provided a comprehensive analysis of the evolving tourism landscape in Madhya Pradesh, highlighting the state’s strategic role in shaping its future through tourism and culture.
In the esteemed presence of Union Minister Shri Shekhawat and Minister of State Shri Lodhi, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board signed six key agreements during GIS, further boosting the tourism sector and enhancing facilities in the state.
