Synergy Global Housing (Synergy) has announced the appointment of Masood Ahmed as its Business Development and Supply Chain Manager, APAC.
This is a significant step for Synergy, following the company’s record-breaking growth in India in 2023, and its substantial expansion across the Asia Pacific region in recent years.
Masood Ahmed’s hybrid role will see him focus on developing new strategic relationships with clients throughout India, while also collaborating with supply chain partners across APAC. This is in line with Synergy’s objective to broaden its footprint within the region and means Synergy will now have both sales and supply chain representation in India for the first time.
Well entrenched in the India travel and mobility space, Masood Ahmed brings with him an impressive 25 years of experience across corporate travel, MICE and procurement, where he was responsible for the development of robust and progressive relationships with high-profile global clients. He will have a dual reporting line to Sofia Oragano, Senior Director, International Sales and Jacqueline Ang, Director of Supply Chain, APAC.
“Masood’s appointment is a real turning point for Synergy”, said Sofia Oragano. “As we continue to achieve record-breaking growth across India, the creation of this role is a strategic leap towards expanding our capabilities for our clients both domestically and internationally—and ultimately taking the client and guest experience to new heights”.
In combination with supporting Synergy to grow and implement its sales strategy in India, Masood Ahmed will support Synergy’s supply chain team across Asia Pacific, and under the guidance of Jacqueline Ang, will collaborate closely with the company’s seasoned supplier management specialists in Singapore and Shanghai.
Jacqueline said, “Masood’s extensive knowledge of the Asia Pacific region will be invaluable as we continue to implement our boots-on-the-ground strategy. As business travel and mobility accelerate throughout Asia Pacific, it’s paramount Synergy remains agile in providing local solutions for both its clients and supplier partners. I have no doubt Masood’s experience, combined with his tenacious approach, will help us to achieve just that”.
Masood Ahmed’s hire represents another milestone in Synergy’s ambitious India growth strategy which saw the company invest substantially into expanding its operations in India earlier this year. With recent increased business flow into India, Synergy has appointed several local reservations, guest services and financial experts to its Bengaluru office, as the company seeks to provide localised and cost-effective serviced accommodation solutions specific to the complexities and opportunities the industry faces in India.
