Roopa Singh has been appointed new Director of Operations at JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa.
Roopa Singh is a seasoned hotelier with over a decade of experience. She joined JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa as Director of Rooms & has now been promoted to the Director of Operations. She is responsible to direct and administer all aspects of hotel operations, which include daily hotel operations, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, inventory management, and cost controls, budgeting and forecasting, department management, and meeting participation and facilitation.
Besides this, she will also be responsible for establishing Food & Beverage excellence in the resort by leading, strategizing, and implementing unique ideas to promote the sustainable offerings curated in the JW Marriott Mussoorie along with sustaining the diverse unique dining experiences.
Her key focus areas include; ensuring the smooth running of operations, promoting good public relations, and handling guests’ complaints to ensure their satisfaction. She is responsible for maximizing hotel revenue by controlling room inventory, group blocking packages, up-selling, and reinforcing the late charge policy to maximize REVPAR. Apart from evaluating departmental training sessions, Roopa personally conducts training for the entire Operations team with an aim to provide the best hospitality experience to guests at the property. Roopa also prepares the annual budget and the manning guide complies with set budgetary guidelines.
Roopa Singh is responsible for analysing and keeping the overall guest satisfaction flag flying high for the resort.
Roopa has received a Diploma in Hotel & Aviation Management from Air Hostess Academy and a Master of Business Administration- Human Resource, Symbiosis Pune, India. She is the recipient of various accolades such as; The Employee of the Month, Front of the House Department at Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, The Appreciation for Excellent Work and Guest Comments, at Hilton Hotels & Resorts, The Best Employee of the Year at Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and Manager of the Quarter at Eros Hotel.
Apart from her professional role, in her leisure time, Roopa enjoys travelling and is an avid reader.
