Autistic individuals often struggle to navigate a world that is primarily designed for neurotypical individuals, often resorting to draining techniques like masking to cope with their daily lives. Due to the limited opportunities to express their true selves, The LaLiT Group created a safe and inclusive space where they could relax.

The LaLiT New Delhi, Keshav Suri Foundation, and Action for Autism organized a Karaoke Night, specifically tailored for individuals with autism. The event was truly heartwarming, as the faces of every participant radiated joy from beginning to end. Focusing towards creating an accessible environment where everyone can feel comfortable and at ease, was the aim which was successfully achieved.

Keshav Suri, Executive Director at The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, expressed his perspective, stating, “As someone who belongs to a non-mainstream group myself, I fully understand the challenges of navigating the mainstream world and the profound importance of creating a space where individuals can truly feel comfortable in their own identities. That is why The LaLiT and the Keshav Suri Foundation initiated an event and hosted this special night.”

He added, “The neurotypical world is primarily tailored for individuals without autism, which can present obstacles and drain autistic individuals. Therefore, events like these provide an opportunity for them to enjoy themselves and showcase their true potential.”

Expressing his gratitude, one of the participants, Anish Singh, enthusiastically exclaimed, “Thank you so much for inviting me to this party! I’m having a blast, and I even got to sing my favourite song.” A parent who attended the event with their child expressed their appreciation, saying, “We are incredibly grateful to you for organizing this event. It used to be challenging for us to take our child to parties, but it’s heartwarming to see her enjoying herself like this.”
