Viva Carnaval is in full swing! Goa‘s streets have come alive with music, dance, parades, and good cheer, the time to feast and groove and forget your sorrows with this grandeur fest.
Viva Carnaval, the most loved festival of the state, began at 4 PM at Panaji. The Goans are in awe of the lively and joyous Intruz 2023. The helicopter and floats adorned the Viva Carnaval festivities this year. The skies looked magnificent and the fleet chanted the song of Carnaval.
Celebrated to mark the uniqueness of Goan culture and the unity of every religion to come as one and celebrate the Carnaval is the beauty of Carnaval de Goa. The parade was flagged off by Pramod Sawant, Hon. Chief Minister, Goa along with Shri Rohan Khaunte, Hon. Minister of Tourism, IT and Printing, and Stationery, Government of Goa, and other respected dignitaries. King Momo, the king of Carnaval, an incarnation of joy in human form led the procession.
In the run-up to the Carnaval, the time of year when the streets of Goa come alive with music, dances, parades, and cheer. The Porvorim Carnival Committee hosted Goa’s first-ever curtain raiser event as a prelude in the presence of esteemed dignitaries: Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon. Minister of State for Tourism & Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, Shri Rohan Khaunte, Hon. Minister of Tourism, IT and Printing & Stationery, Government of Goa, Shri. Sanjeev Ahuja, Secretary Tourism, Government of Goa, Shri Pravimal Abhishek, IAS, Director of Tourism, Government of Goa, Shri Jit Arolkar, Chairman; Housing Board MLA – Mandrem Constituency and Shri. Kedar Naik, Vice Chairman; GSIDC, MLA Saligao along with other dignitaries
Hon. Minister of Tourism, Rohan Khaunte greeted everyone during the Carnaval. The crowd soared in high spirits, “VIVA Carnaval! VIVA Carnaval!” The procession was led by an orchestra, trumpets, and bands playing the Goa Carnaval theme song along with dance performances.
